I spent 10 years at Edgewood College lecturing in maths and later also in computers. The last 6 years have been at Merrifield, teaching from grades 8 to 12. I mark IEB exams papers every year and also teach the Advanced Programme Maths to pupils from various schools in East London. I would be happy to consider a full time or part time post but am past coaching cricket and rugby! I will be 65 years old at the end of the year but am in good health and hope to teach for a couple more years. Hi!
I got your email address from the secretary at Grey High
in Port Elizabeth. I am writing from Cape Town and
looking to move back to the Eastern Cape, but having
great difficulty accessing info on potential vacant
posts in the area. I am currently the Art Teacher at
Voortrekker High in Kenilworth, Cape Town, where I am
responsible for the teaching of Arts and Culture to
Grades 8 and 9 as well as Visual Art to Grades 10 to
12.
As you will see from my CV, I have extensive teaching
and other experience within the visual arts and crafts
fields. My diverse range of experience gives me a
valuable and broad range of experience and reference to
draw from. I have been out of secondary level teaching
for some time, but have returned to it this year since
moving to Cape Town. I am now very much on track with
the requirements and syllabus for both the Arts and
Culture Grades 8 and 9 as well as the Visual Art Grades
10 to 12.
I am also able to teach English as I have English 2
and a method course in English at HDE level. This
however would be a second choice as I am an art
person first and foremost.
