It is with regret that the executive committee of Rape Wise have noted a profound increase in violent incidents at South African schools.

 

Reports of educators and management, not identifying the symptoms displayed by a child before an attack is truly worrying.

 

In a report presented to former President Thabo Mbeki by Minister Charles Nqakula it was noted that by the end of May last year, 3478 children where being detained around the country for various crimes such as: murder, rape, serious and violent assault and aggravated robbery.

 

Rape Wise have researched and developed an afternoon workshop aimed at addressing school violence.
